The Men’s Premier League continues to tighten with every round, as inconsistent results across the competition make it impossible to pick a clear favourite. Just seven points separate first and seventh on the ladder, meaning a strong run of form can quickly propel a team up the standings. Berowra have taken full advantage of that opportunity, winning four of their last five matches to climb into second place.
Round 10 also delivered some major statement victories, with Knox United and Lindfield overcoming two of the competition’s most in-form sides. Meanwhile, Willoughby Dalleys secured a crucial three points against Chatswood Rangers, boosting their hopes of climbing away from the bottom end of the table. West Pymble recorded their fifth consecutive draw this season, with Northbridge remaining one point clear at the top despite a recent dip in form.

Chatswood Rangers 1 – 3 Willoughby Dalleys
This was a crucial clash in the battle to avoid the bottom two, with both sides desperate for points. Chatswood Rangers entered the match full of confidence after securing their first win of the season the previous week, while Willoughby Dalleys were looking to build on a valuable point from their last outing.
The opening half was a cagey affair, with both teams focused on maintaining their shape and limiting opportunities. Neither side managed to secure a decisive breakthrough, and the teams went into the break locked at 0-0.
Dalleys made the perfect start to the second half when Benjamin Morrison found the opening goal shortly after the restart, giving the visitors a valuable advantage. In response, Chatswood turned to their bench, making four substitutions as they searched for a way back into the contest.
The game remained finely balanced until the 83rd minute when Jeremy Vaz doubled Dalleys’ lead and put them in control. Chatswood refused to give in and struck in stoppage time to reduce the deficit and set up a tense finish. However, any hopes of a late comeback were quickly extinguished as Ashton Drew found the net moments later, sealing a 3-1 victory for Dalleys and sending the bench into raptures.
It was a much-needed result for Dalleys, with Knox also taking three points this weekend, making the league continually closer.
Hornsby Heights FC 1 – 5 Knox United FC
Hornsby Heights entered the clash in strong form, carrying a three-match winning streak into their home fixture at Montview. Knox United, meanwhile, were determined to respond after a disappointing defeat the previous week.
Neither side were able to gain the upper hand during a tightly contested first half, with the teams heading into the break locked at 0-0. Montview has long been a stronghold for Heights, but it was Knox who emerged from halftime full of confidence and intent.
Luke Chapman broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, sparking an impressive second-half display from the visitors. Zac Harvey-Latham added a goal before Rhishav Chapagain struck twice to put Knox firmly in control.
Harvey-Latham’s dismissal minutes later gave Heights a glimmer of hope, and Liam Flanagan pulled one back for the home side. However, it was simply not their day, with Oscar Walker finding the net in stoppage time to cap off a dominant performance and seal a stunning 5-1 victory, arguably the biggest upset of the season so far.
Congratulations to Rhishav Chapagain, whose impressive double in a massive victory makes him the Player of the Round.

Berowra FC 2 – 1 Kissing Point FC
Berowra entered the round in strong form, sitting second on the ladder and continuing to build momentum. Kissing Point arrived at Berowra Oval looking to bounce back from a tough defeat at muddy Montview and regain some consistency.
For the third time this round, the sides went into halftime locked at 0-0, with neither team able to break the deadlock. The contest sprang to life after the interval when Cameron Roberts gave Berowra the lead in the 55th minute. Kissing Point responded well, with Cameron Veldhuizen finding an equaliser in the 68th minute to set up a thrilling finish.
As the intensity lifted in the closing stages, Berowra found the decisive moment they were searching for. Samuel Parry struck in the 84th minute to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory and send the home side into celebration.
The win further strengthens Berowra’s credentials as genuine title contenders. They now sit just one point off the top spot and boast the best form in the competition.
North Sydney United 3 – 5 Lindfield FC
North Sydney United have earned a reputation as the competition’s entertainers, with their matches averaging 4.5 goals per game this season. Lindfield arrived looking to find some consistency, having shown they can trouble any side on their day but struggling to produce those performances regularly.
As expected, there was no shortage of action in the opening half. Tom Ventura gave Lindfield an early lead, only for Ashton Cox to level the scores four minutes later. The visitors regained the advantage before halftime through Patrick Ventura, who joined his namesake on the scoresheet to send Lindfield into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half continued the trend of early second-half goals this round. Colm Walsh equalised from open play for North Sydney United before Thomas Kalogerou completed the turnaround, putting the home side 3-2 ahead and seemingly in control of the contest.
Lindfield responded, with Harry Gleeson restoring parity before captain James Plumley fired the visitors back in front in another dramatic twist. Asha Phillips then put the result beyond doubt with a goal in the 86th minute, sealing a thrilling 5-3 victory for Lindfield.
It was yet another goal-filled encounter involving North Sydney United, while the important three points move Lindfield to within just one point of their opponents on the ladder.
West Pymble FC 2 – 2 Northbridge FC
The spotlight in recent weeks has been on West Pymble’s remarkable run of draws, remaining unbeaten but sitting fifth on the ladder heading into this clash. Northbridge, meanwhile, were aiming to rediscover consistency after a mixed run of results.
In a tightly contested first half at NTRA, it was Northbridge who struck first, with Josha Avanus finding the breakthrough late in the half to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage at the break.
West Pymble emerged from halftime with renewed energy and quickly turned the game on its head. Christopher Lenin-Parker levelled the scores before Bailey Stevens continued his strong season in front of goal, putting the hosts ahead and seemingly on course to end their streak of draws.
However, Northbridge kept pushing, with Derek Karapetian finding a crucial equaliser in the 83rd minute, ensuring the points were shared in a 2-2 draw. The result keeps Northbridge at the top of the table, holding a slender one-point lead, while West Pymble recorded a fifth consecutive draw and remain unbeaten. They will have another opportunity to take three points when they take on Chatswood in a catch-up fixture tonight.
