Retention is the forefront of everything we do at NSFA, we want to ensure our football community have a positive experience and stay in the game.

Back in 2019 when NSFA formed Female Football Working Group we presented the evidence that we were losing the same number of female players each year as we were gaining. This evidence challenged the idea that we get more females into the game we will solve the current problems. As a collective the FFWG made a commitment to focusing on retention over attraction. Since that decision retention in the female game has increased from 64% to 72% resulting in an increase in female player representation to 26%.

Female Football Working Group

The NSFA Female Football Working Group is a collection of like-minded individuals within the NSFA member clubs, working together to transform the game. These clubs have a Female Football Coordinator that oversees the strategy and initiatives they implement to provide an inclusive and empowering culture for females within their respetive clubs.
