Over 140 local coaches descended upon NTRA on Monday night for the inaugural NSFA Community Coaching Expo.
In what was the biggest coach education event in the association’s history, participants from 23 of the 30 NSFA clubs took part in one of three offerings – ALDI MiniRoos Certificate, Introduction to SAP (Skill Acquisition Phase) Workshop or Introduction to 11v11 Football Workshop.
“The turnout for this event is a massive achievement for our association,” said NSFA Community Football Manager Ed Ferguson.
“Each separate offering on the night drew numbers that we have never typically achieved with standalone events.”
“I’d like to thank the NSFA community and in particular our Club Coaching Coordinators for helping drive attendance at their local clubs.”
The evening was facilitated by the following presenters:
- ALDI MiniRoos Certificate (76 participants): Eilidh Mackay (XLR8 Football School), Oscar Gonzalez (Football NSW Community Coach Education Manager), Ed Ferguson (NSFA Community) and Danny Beauchamp (CCM Community Officer).
- Introduction to Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) (46 participants): Ollie Stickland (Northern Lions SAP Technical Director), Craig Tyrie (Northern Tigers SAP Technical Director) and Marc Messina (Northern Tigers SAP Coach)
- Introduction to 11v11 football (20 participants): Jason Eagar (NSFA/Northern Tigers Technical Director)
NSFA would like to thank all presenters for giving their time and expertise on the night.
Sacred Heart Mosman have been awarded a club coaching pack from Football NSW for having the largest percentage of their club’s coaches at the Expo, while Asquith SC coach Han Helou was the randomly selected winner for the Sydney FC box prize package.
