NSFA Pre-Season Fitness Challenge Launched

NSFA Pre-Season Fitness Challenge Launched

NSFA and Northern Tigers FC are excited to be partnering with Sydney-based charity, Running for Premature Babies and long-standing sponsor St Ives Physiotherapy to bring you the NSFA Pre-Season Fitness Challenge.

The Pre-Sesason Fitness Challenge aims to get all members of our football community active, healthy and preparing themselves ahead of the 2022 season. In a combined effort we will aim to run 26,000kms, the same number of babies that are born prematurely each year in Australia. Participants simply join the ‘NSFA Preseason fitness challenge’ club on Strava and their kilometeres will be automatically counted to the challenge.

“This fitness challenge is our way of getting our players, coaches and referees fit before the season whilst also shining a light on the great work Sophie and the Running for Premature Babies charity are doing,” said NSFA CEO Edward Ferguson.

“St Ives Physio will once again be providing their support and guidance to our football community, releasing regular tips, hints and ways we can all manage our fitness ahead of the season. It is vital we all take responsibility for our fitness prior to the first match of the season for the safety of ourselves and others on the park.”

The NSFA Pre-Season Fitness Challenge commenced on February 1 and will run until the the last day of the pre-season, March 31st. Participants can run, walk and hike their way to contributing to the 26,000 km effort and along the way pick up easy tips and hints from St Ives Physio to ensure we kick off the season feeling healthy.

The NSFA look forward to creating a collaborative running groups throughout the region to hit our target of 26,000km.

Happy running!
