Summer Football FAQs

Summer Football FAQs

What is the playing format?

Summer football is a 6-a-side competition – each team fields a team of six players (including goalkeepers).

More information can be found on our Competition Regulations page – Summer Football follows the Modified Football regulations.

How many players can be in a team?

There is no maximum number of players that can be registered to a team during a season, however only 10 players can participate in a single match for a team.

Will the matches have referees?

NSFA and NSFRA will appoint referees to every Summer Football match. In the event of unforseen circumstances either a NSFA ground controller will step in or teams may be required to provide a referee for a match.

Can I use Active Kids Vouchers for Summer Football?

Yes, when a team manager registers for a competition they must select External Payment when registering. Team Managers then compile the information for all Active Kids vouchers to be redeemed for their team in the form located on our registration guides page. Once the voucher information has been received and validated by NSFA, the Team Manager pays the outstanding balance.
