Spectators were treated to two fantastic days of football across two venues for the NSFA Cups and Shields Finals weekend.
On Saturday at Charles Bean Oval, Chatswood Rangers secured a fifth NSFA Cup after an entertaining 4-2 against Willoughby Dalleys, before North Sydney United took out the Rick Close Cup for the fourth successive season by defeating Lane Cove.
Proceedings moved to North Turramurra Recreation Area on Sunday, starting with West Pymble triumphing in the Treasurer’s Shield against Lindfield in an eight-goal thriller. The all-Lindfield affair in the Vice-President’s Shield saw the 15A’s defeat the 16A’s in a tense penalty shootout, before Northbridge became the first team to win the GWFC Girls U18 Shield back-to-back in a strong performance against Lindfield.
The weekend concluded in dramatic fashion, as Lindfield secured the President’s Shield in golden goal against North Sydney United. NSFA would like to congratulate all teams and match officials in creating a weekend of highly entertaining matches to conclude the 2019 winter season.
