Round 6 of the Women’s Premier League saw some big results, with Northbridge getting the win against Northern Galaxy in the match of the round 5-1, and Beecroft FC with the same scoreline against Normanhurst Eagles. North Sydney United won against Putney Rangers, whilst Hornsby Heights and West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook played out a tense 0-0 draw. UTS and Lindfield both took all the points through forfeits.

West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook FC 0 – 0 Hornsby Heights FC
This game was set to be very close, with Heights coming into it with three games unbeaten and WPHC with two wins on the bounce. WPHC were looking to keep pace at the top whilst a win for Heights would see them climbing the ladder for another week.
Both sides showed strong and disciplined defensive performances, keeping the scoreline locked at 0-0 heading into half time. Despite having Grace Perring and Mia Hing in the top 5 scorers in the league, WPHC were able to keep them quiet and keep a clean sheet. Rachel Iredale looked to add to her tally for the home side, but Heights also stayed strong defensively. The game finished a 0-0 draw, keeping the standings tight.
Northern Galaxy 1 – 5 Northbridge FC
Northern Galaxy were in need of a win coming into this one, whilst Northbridge were looking to continue from their big result last week over the Flying Bats.
Northern Galaxy started fast, with Matilda Waite putting the home side ahead in the 5th minute. They defended strongly, but Northbridge showed their quality and were able to go ahead before halftime with goals from Jenna Kim and Ella Pisani to lead 2-1 at the break. Northbridge then took the game away from Galaxy in the second half with three goals across ten minutes from Eloise Hansen, Gemma Chandiok and Valerie Chang. The game ended with a 5-1 win.
Congratulations to Gemma Chandiok, who earns Player of the Round after a strong performance and goal in Northbridge’s win.

Putney Rangers 0 – 6 North Sydney United
North Sydney United were coming into this one looking to continue their strong form this season and keep close to the top of the ladder.
The away side showed their intentions early on, with goals from Emily Edwards and Manami Nishio in the 4th and 16th minutes. Nishio made it a brace in the 27th minute, with Zoe Seeley adding a fourth before half time. In the second half, Edwards and Seeley both scored their second goals of the match, matching the 6-0 scoreline from the previous week.
Rest of the Round
Beecroft FC won 5-1 against Normanhurst Eagles in an all NWSF clash, whilst Lindfield FC and UTS FC claimed all 3 points due to forfeits from the opposition. That puts them both at the top of the table with 15 points, with North Sydney United, WPHC FC and Northbridge FC all close behind with 13 points.
