In a nail-biting turn of events, the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) emerged victorious in this year’s Women’s Select match against Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA). With a scoreless draw at full time, the match escalated straight into a penalty shootout where NSFA claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory.
The 2023 defeat served as motivation, propelling the NSFA Women’s Select team to put on a stellar performance this year.
The roster, featuring players from North Sydney United, Turramurra United, Lindfield FC, West Pymble FC, and UTS FC, showcased incredible talent and determination.
Coach Paul Grundy’s strategic guidance and the collective effort of players contributed to the intense battle against MWFA.
A notable highlight was goalkeeper Bronte Finnegan’s outstanding performance in the penalty shootout, saving two crucial goals and contributing significantly to the team’s success. The team’s captain, Amanda Skellern of Lindfield FC, led with poise and determination throughout the match.
