Goalkeeper Coach Scholarship Winners Announced

The NSFA coaching department can confirm that Rohan Thomas (Kissing Point) and Rhys Rogers (XLR8) have been selected as recipients of the inaugural NSFA Goalkeeper Coaching Scholarship.

Each successful candidate will receive the following investment:

  • Fee covered for Football Australia Level 1 Goalkeeping Licence ($1,430)
  • Ongoing support from NSFA Coach Development Manager, NSFA Technical Director NSFA Community Football Manager and Northern Tigers Goalkeeping Staff

The NSFA Goalkeeping Scholarship is a new addition to the NSFA Coaching Scholarships which has been awarded over recent seasons. This new initiative targets and supports a specific area of football which NSFA believe is crucial to coach and player development across many age groups – Goalkeeping.

“This opportunity further highlights our strategic approach towards supporting a variety of coaches through investing into the continuous professional development of the Goalkeeping scholarship recipients,” commented Jake Stephenson, NSFA Coach Development Manager.

“The successful recipients will have the unique opportunity to be part of the Football Australia Level 1 Goalkeeping Licence in February 2022 – and with their learnings will subsequently become part of our NSFA Coaching Expos, adding a goalkeeping element to NSFA Coach Development. We look forward to working with them over the coming year.”
