2021 Coaching Scholarship Winners Announced

NSFA is pleased to announce the Coaching Scholarship winners for 2021 – Madeline Jelbart (West Pymble), Sam Odgers (Northbridge), Caimin Conroy (West Pymble) and Imogen Bedwell (Lindfield).

NSFA Coach Development Manager Jake Stephenson was delighted with the quality of the applicants in the process.

“It’s been hugely pleasing to see many individuals apply for the scholarship this year across a wide variety of NSFA clubs.

“Each successful applicant successfully demonstrated a key understanding of football across the region, within their club, NSFA pathways and had experienced community coaching roles for a number of years across different age groups.

“We are thankful for the work they have undertaken thus far across the grassroots game and hope the scholarship will support them further in their development as coaches.”

With over 18,050 playing members and over 1,300 coaches currently involved in 2021, a core aim of NSFA is to increase the quality of football for all players involved in the game through the continued education and investment into coaching.

“The coaching scholarships are a vital piece of investment to the coach development program in order to increase the professional development and learning opportunities for the recipients,” said Stephenson.

“In turn we hope the knowledge and experiences obtained through the scholarship will further support the football experience of all our members across a variety of clubs, workshops and coach expos to further educate people involved in the grassroots game”.

Each successful candidate will receive the following investment to kick start their first step into the advanced coach education pathway set out by Football Australia:

  • Fee covered for FFA Advanced C-Licence Youth course ($1,155)
  • Ongoing support from NSFA Coach Development Manager, NSFA Technical Director, NSFA Community Football Manager & NSFA Head of Female Football.

Each scholarship winner will also be upskilled to become an FFA MiniRoos certificate presenter, growing NSFA’s coach developer network and once again, extending the football educated community to new heights.

NSFA would like to thank all those who applied for the NSFA Coaching Scholarship and a special congratulations to the winners.
