Sustainable Sports Program Update

Sustainable Sports Program Update

In honour of World Environment Day (5/6/21), the Sustainable Sports Program, adopted by NSFA, organised five Clean Up sites at football grounds with associated waterways. These included Tunks Park, Lane Cove Park, Montview Oval, NTRA and Blackman Park.

The weekend saw a total of 22 bags of general rubbish (estimated 990 litres) and 11 bags of recyclable rubbish (330 litres) collected. Some of the weird and wonderful things found were a 4m steel pole, sofa cushion, bike, fire engine hose and a few steel bars. 30 Youth Ambassadors took part in the spirit of eco-restoration.

To build up excitement for the event, a draw was held for the registered Youth Ambassadors. Congratulations to our winners Annika De Goede, Lachlan Murnain (both from Turramurra Utd) and April Rose (Northbridge). A huge thank you to Rebel Sport for partnering and providing each of our three winners with a $100 voucher!
