Recently, the Board has undertaken a formal recruitment process for the position of CEO and has evaluated and interviewed a number of candidates, both internal and external. The Board is delighted to announce that Ed Ferguson has been appointed to the CEO role, effective Monday 2 December, 2019. Ed is known to all member clubs for his outstanding work as the NSFA Community Football Manager building the XLR8 Player Development Programs, INSPIRE and other community development initiatives. He has proven to be the standout candidate, with a proven track record of delivery and passion for our game. Prior to his time at NSFA, Ed was MiniRoos Manager at Football NSW and has held several senior coaching positions at Northern Tigers and Lindfield FC.

As many of you know, the Board has promoted a culture of openness and transparency, and Ed’s leadership style fits in well with that approach. Ed is ideally suited to lead the Association with his deep knowledge and experience of its activities, his demonstrable leadership qualities and a strong focus on delivering for members. The Board has enjoyed getting to know Ed during his tenure as Community Football Manager and has rigorously tested his readiness for CEO during the interview process. We know that Ed is very excited about his role as the new CEO and is absolutely committed to working with member clubs to progress the next phase of our strategy.
The Board wishes to express its thanks to Malcolm Waldock for his passion, vision and commitment to NSFA during his three-year tenure as CEO. The Board is sorry that he has elected to move on, however remains excited about our future with the transition from Malcolm to Ed as our new CEO.
The future of the NSFA Community Football Manager position will be announced in coming weeks.
