In 2018, NSFA will be offering two development leagues to provide association players with a high-level community football experience – Super League (Mixed Football) and Diamond League (Girls Football).
These leagues will act as the top division of community football in their respective age groups, enforcing a minimum standard of coaching and number of training sessions per week.
Coaches will also be further supported by Ed Ferguson, NSFA Community Football Manager, through coaching workshops and the INSPIRE program.
Super League
From 2018 onwards, Mixed Youth Division 1 competitions from Under 12 to Under 16 will now be referred to as Super League.
All teams competing in Super League must meet the following criteria:
- Two training sessions a week.
- Minimum Coach Accreditation of Skill Training and / or Game Training Certificate (or higher e.g. FFA C-Licence), to be completed by 31st May 2018.
- Super League coaches must also be a member of the Inspire Program.
- Super League coaches must attend a minimum of one Super League Coach Education workshop facilitated by Ed Ferguson – Community Football Manager.

Diamond League
In season 2018, Diamond League will operate across the following age groups:
G10, G12, G14 and G16.
The following Diamond League clubs will be given first priority to enter competitive Division 1 teams across these four age groups:
- Chatswood Rangers FC
- Hornsby Heights FC
- Lindfield FC
- Northbridge FC
- North Sydney FC
- West Pymble FC
In a situation whereby teams from outside of the above clubs are exceeding expectation or the above-mentioned clubs / teams are not of the required standard, NSFA reserves the right to promote/demote teams to ensure all competitions are competitive and balanced.
All clubs / teams competing in Diamond League must meet the following criteria:
- Two training sessions a week
- Minimum Coach Accreditation of Skill Training for G10 and G12 (or higher e.g. FFA C-Licence), to be completed by 31st May 2018.
- Minimum Coach Accreditation of Skill Training and / or Game Training for G14 and G16 (or higher e.g. FFA C-Licence), to be completed by 31st May 2018.
- Diamond League coaches must also be a member of the Inspire Program.
- Diamond League coaches must attend a minimum of one Diamond League Coach Education workshop facilitated by Ed Ferguson – Community Football Manager.
