History Corner: Life Member Bill Bazeley

William (Bill) Bazeley was a friend of the Ku-ring-gai and District Soccer Association’s (KDSA, now the NSFA) first President, Don Allen. It is believed that Don coerced Bill to help with the running of the Association.

Bill was known to be a member of the Protests, Disputes and Disciplinary Committee (PD&DC) of the Association. Fellow Life Member, William Mackay, in the 1971 Annual Report, thanked Bill for his service to the Committee commenting that he would often be available at short notice.

Bill was heavily involved with the Ku-ring-gai Soccer Club Limited (KSC). In the 1970’s and early 1980’s, he was known to attend the Meetings of the KSC and was a member of the Board of Directors. It is Bill who often wrote the KSC reports for the KDSA’s Annual Reports.

Bill was also a floor member of the Ku-ring-gai and District Soccer Association’s Management Committee over many years in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. In 1978 and 1982, Bill was responsible for publicity and promotion of the KDSA.

In 1981, Bill was elected a Life Member of the Association for his continual service to the game of football. Bill was known to be a tireless worker for the Association, especially with the Seniors and the Representative sides. We thank Bill for his time and dedication to football in our Association in its formative years.
