On Saturday April 30th at Naremburn Oval, Northern Suburbs Football Association took part in the Football Australia #EQUALISER campaign to promote the equality of female sports facilities across our country.
We are striving towards a long-term goal of 50-50 participation. However only 35% of venues currently offer safe, gender split change room and toilet facilities. We need better and participants young and old deserve better.
Thank you to North Sydney Federal Election candidates Trent Zimmerman and Catherine Renshaw and Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor for their attendance and understanding of the issue at hand, as well as former Matilda Julie Dolan and Football Australia and Football NSW representatives for attending and allowing us to show off the unfortunate state of grassroots football facilities.
NSFA have worked alongside Clubs and Councils to identify facilities in greatest need. See the NSFA Facilities Strategy for more information.
