Taking Care of Our Community

Taking Care of Our Community

Dear Members,

Thank you to those that took note of last week’s message and the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 cases in NSW.

I am pleased to say that your response has provided confidence that we can ensure a safe environment for football to be played and observed within. This week will be no different.

The restrictions enforced this weekend will include:

Persons who have visited Victoria in the last 14 days are excluded from participating in NSFA football activities (including spectators and officials).

Persons who have attended any of the reported case locations listed in NSW Health website, are excluded from participating in NSFA football activities (including spectators and officials).

A maximum of ONE spectator is permitted per player, where possible. We trust you!

Northern Suburbs Football Association and all member Clubs continue to enforce the following restrictions:

  • Do not attend practice or matches if you are feeling unwell
  • Players must arrive ‘match ready’ and avoid any loitering around the field pre & post-match
  • Maximum ONE spectator per participating player. Only parents and carers permitted. If non-essential, please stay home!
  • All spectators must social distance 1.5m – This is roughly the length of your umbrella, please use it!
  • No sharing drink bottles or food (e.g. Half time oranges)
  • No changerooms can be used.
  • Some MiniRoos fixtures have been moved to reduce the amount of spectators at certain hubs. You will have been notified already if this has impacted your team.

Any person found to be acting in breach of the above NSFA directive will be investigated and the matter will be put forth before NSFA Player Disputes and Disciplinary Committee.

With 16,728 participants in 2020, we have a responsibility to ensure each other are safe and the wider community of the Northern Suburbs. You have a responsibility to manage yourself, your teams mates and your associated spectators. Please exercise this responsibility. If you do not feel comfortable participating please notify your manager. This is each individual’s responsibility.

NSFA staff and volunteers will be reporting on all grounds this weekend. Further restrictions may be applied in the coming weeks to ensure we remain COVID safe. Please keep an eye on the NSFA Facebook page for live updates.

Yours in football,

Ed Ferguson CEO – NSFA
