NSFA Members Recieve Football NSW Awards

Two members of the NSFA football community received honours at the Football NSW State Dinner on Saturday night.

NSFA Life Member Damian Miles was posthumously awarded a State Award in recognition of his services to football in the region, including 14 years as NSFA Competitions Manager. Damian stepped down from his position at NSFA following his diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease in 2021 before unfortunately passing away in September this year. Damian’s sister Mel accepted the award on his behalf.

Football coach David Neale was one of three recipients of the Future Leader Award, which recognises an individual, aged between 16 and 25, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to football at any level of the game (club, association, branch, or state). David has been a coach within the NSFA’s XLR8 Player Development Program for a number of years, working with several NSFA clubs to support their players and holding the position of Development Officer.

NSFA would like to thank Football NSW for acknowledging the contributions of Damian and David to our football community.
