Berowra Football Club’s Back to Berowra Day proved to be a resounding triumph, attracting a crowd of approximately 700 to 800 individuals from the local community and beyond. The event, which featured various age groups and teams, served as an excellent opportunity for community members to engage with the club and immerse themselves in a day dedicated to football.
The event was designed to showcase the club’s core values of fun, social engagement, and competitive football, while also emphasising the clear progression through to either social senior teams or Men’s Premier League.
Highlights of the event included thrilling activities such as Giant inflatable footballs with hordes of kids chasing an oversized inflatable ball around, an enticing FNSW Dart board, and a walking football come-and-try session. Additionally, the day witnessed the revival of a northern derby with HHFC, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.
Trevor Huxley expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating, “Back to Berowra Day brought together our community, providing an enjoyable opportunity for everyone to watch football and participate in various activities.”
This sense of community bonding was further solidified through the presentation of a framed collage to the club, commemorating the men’s premier league title, as well as the recognition of Steve Harris with the President’s award from the previous year’s President’s Dinner.
Overall, Berowra Football Club’s Back to Berowra Day triumphantly achieved its objectives of showcasing the club’s values and fostering a sense of togetherness among its members. By offering an array of engaging activities and celebrating notable achievements, the event successfully strengthened the bond within the Berowra FC community.
